Fallout New Vegas ED E My Love Quest Walkthrough And Companion Details

ED-E is one of the most versatile and valuable non-human companions you can recruit in Fallout: New Vegas. Beyond providing excellent utility in combat and serving as a mobile workbench, repairing this Eyebot unlocks the personal quest ED-E My Love. Completing this journey reveals forgotten Enclave audio logs while allowing you to upgrade ED-E for long-term wasteland survival.
How to Repair ED-E and Start the Quest
To begin the quest, players must head to the Mojave Express office in Primm and locate the damaged Eyebot lying on a counter. Repairing ED-E requires a Science skill of 65, a Repair skill of 55, or specific items such as scrap metal, sensor modules, and scrap electronics. Once active, ED-E becomes a companion and will eventually trigger audio logs when key phrases are spoken by NPCs across the wasteland.
Triggering the Enclave Audio Logs
Progressing through ED-E My Love depends on unlocking two audio logs by talking to specific characters throughout the Mojave. Speaking with NPCs like Ignacio Rivas at HELIOS One, Old Lady Gibson near Novac, or Knight Lorenzo at Hidden Valley can trigger these hidden memory logs. After triggering the first log, you must wait nine in-game days before the second audio trigger can be activated.
Choosing Between the Brotherhood and the Followers
After unlocking both logs, two factions will express interest in ED-E's internal data storage. Lorenzo of the Brotherhood of Steel will ask for the Eyebot to upgrade its armor, while April Martell of the Followers of the Apocalypse requests access to enhance its laser weapons. Your choice determines the permanent combat bonus ED-E receives for the remainder of your playthrough.
Companion Benefits and Unique Utility
ED-E provides the powerful Enhanced Sensors perk, which allows you to detect enemies at a much greater distance on your compass radar and target cloaked foes in V.A.T.S. Additionally, ED-E functions as a portable workbench and reloading bench, making it an essential ally for ammo crafting and item maintenance on long journeys across the Mojave Wasteland.
